One victim of the H1N1 virus flew in here and we farmers in Uganda we are very much worried. Please house what are the precaution measures should we take and what are the possible immediate first aid or treatment? I will be glad to hear from the forum.

Keep all persons out of your farms. Dont allow workers in with the sniffles, Be observant about sore throats, temperatures, sniffly noses. Be aware of where you yourself go and who you may be mixing with. Whether any one around you may be sick. There is a fair bit of information on the internet you should look it up and have a good read of it.

It looks like the H1N1 flu is here to stay: Buenos Aires, Argentina is "shut down" right now because of it. Its fair to assume that this will be with us for the next year. I have never heard that chickens can catch the flu virus from humans, but pigs definitely can. There are now 2 confirmed cases of that: Canada and Argentina. I agree with Noni - the strictest biosecurity measures need to be observed on the farm.
