Pam, you did. I was just checking to see if you were paying attention.

Erik, surely I mentioned some of these things while catching up on the kids and what you've been doing the past several years. It's so much fun selling these days with all of the opportunities we have to offer our customers. I especially hope that you'll attend the on-line poultry forum. You'll really enjoy it!

Gary, you took the words right out of my keyboard!

Erik - Gary won't toot his own horn - I will. He has embraced the new paradigm and greatly contributed to our success. The online virtual forums we run (4 scheduled for 2010) is just one example where Gary has gotten his industry contacts to understand that our audience is getting content from not only magazines, but also from digital editions, enewsletters, blogs, social networking, video, podcasts, webinars, virtual forums, mobile, etc.

He along with Chris Wright, Simon Shane, Mark Clements and Peter Best have put together a world-class stable of educators/content providers that want their knowledge transferred in new ways - the virtual forum is perfect for this. Please sign up to attend - it's free!

Best,

JM

Hey Gary, Long time, no see.

No kidding?! You're doing all this. That tells you how long I've been away from the industry. No one tells me these things. I blame Pam Ballard. ;-)

That is great though. I'm glad to see you're doing this. I'll check this out.

Hi Erik,
WATT delivers content via podcasts and other ways, too.. Check out www.wattagnet.com/11421.html. There are a number of audio interviews on industry issues there, and more coming. Also, coming later this month is WATT multimedia coverage of the International Poultry Expo/International Feed Expo in Atlanta. Watch for this at www.wattagnet.com.
Other media from WATT includes the virtual seminars -- one upcoming March 25 is the WATT Poultry Nutrition & Health Forum. Register at www.wattevents.com.

They've had e-readers like the Kindle for a couple years, which are more popular, because of their size. The question would be whether people carry the new one, because it's big, compared to all of our micro technology today.

I would like to see WATT deliver content via podcast, video, and via mobile technology like iPhones and Droids. A lot of B2C media are already delivering content this way. And as more smart phones are getting into people's hands, and as cellular networks are expanding into rural areas, this is something many media companies are able to do today.

Came across a very interesting article on "e-readers":

I've read about this technology for 5 years now and it's cool to see an actual product debuting this week. IMO, it's a game changer as the technology will only get better, less expensive and more portable.

I envision WATT will be delivering content via such a devise in the future.

Thoughts? I'm very curious what this forum thinks...

Thank you. I appreciate it.

I'll keep that in mind...we're always interested in discovering talented writers...especially in the poultry biz.

Continued success.

Jeff, for the poultry industry? None. We do blogging for whichever company hires us though. A sportswear manufacturer, a print shop supplier, a health care system, etc. And I've got 10 years in the poultry supply business, so we could easily handle writing for the industry.
