Mike, if rice husks were the same price as pine shavings which would you prefer?

Stanley, rice hulls are used around here IF pine shavings are in short supply, but they are more expensive than pine. If they are available and cheap, then they work fine. I don't know anything about corn cobs.

my masters research was on using chaffed paddy and wheat straws for broiler litter and ensiling of the used litter. i am awaiting publication of two papers related to my research. would like to contact other researchers engaged in similar studies.

It not only useful for poultry health thoroughout the flock but also affected to carcasss quality at slaughtering process.
