As you said, dressing waste of marine animals being fed to ruminents without much problem, as there is microbial culture present in remen and required enzyme may be synthosized by microbes and help in digestion. but, in poultry lack of such process, we need to supplement chitinase enzyme in diet for better utilization of marine dressing waste. our experience that we have tried using Suilla i.e by catch of prawn, in poultry diets without enzyme supplementation and broilers could perform well upto 3% inclusion level. any information about the availability of chitinase enzyme you pl.
Tony Bimbo, i am professor in poultry sci., at vety. college. it came to know that your are expert in By-product recovery, waste utilization. well. there is lot of material of dressing waste of prawns and other marine animales are available at dressing plants.Disposing of such huge material is a problem. when we want use for feeding of poultry, we could not. As you are aware that most of this material contain chitin, which is not digested and utilized, as there is lack of chitinase enzyme in poultry digestive system. what you suggest. whether, chitinase enzyme commercial preperations available.
